	CONGRATS to the 2009 Battle of the Band Winners: First place: Solace (now called Whisker Backet) of Crown Point, IN Received recording studio time with John Huber & On the Spot Studio in Schneider, IN and a $200 cash prize. Second Place: Controlled Chaos of DeMotte, IN Received recording studio time with John Carpenter at Thunderclap Studios in Hammond and pizza at Verona Pizza III in Highland. The Judging: All bands will be judged in several categories. Stage Presence/Performance: How the band looks and presents itself on stage and connects with each other and the audience. Overall Talent: The level of musicianship and ability displayed by the band members and their ability to work together as a band in an ensemble format—Do they work together and play together well? Originality: Does the band break any kind of new ground musically or in it’s performance presentation? Is their look and/or sound fresh and innovative? Do they have fresh and creative treatments of cover songs and/or well written and executed original songs? Audience Response/Participation: How much applause and response for their performance?
